The NDAA bill passing says the government also has the right to declare marshal law without approval from congress through the use of the military, they can detain anyone who is thought to be a terrorist (basically anyone who opposes them, has more than 7 days worth of food stocked up (yes even preppers), or guns and ammo), and they can detain them indefinitely without trial. They've basically just made it legal to enter your house or residence without notification to confiscate whatever they see fit.

I actually looked into it and talked to a rep a few times we both decided it was best to wait till I left the military. Seems like a good group of guys but I never participated in any of their training events just talked to some of them.

A group split off from them a while back and they call themselves the Texas State Militia instead of just Texas Militia, something about some stuff that happened in Arizona while assisting the Minutemen border watch group.
