My issue is that they offer you market value and not replacement value. I'll sell if they give whatever it takes for me to go somewhere else and get at least what I have now. But, they aren't going to do that. They are going to give you some lowball offer and then take it from you by force if you don't accept.Last edited by line-em-up; 10-06-2012, 05:49 PM.

Then why the fuck do you get a deed and have legal responsibility and are told in writing that you are the property owner?Originally posted by jayjohnson600 View PostSure, it's a problem, but only for the party that thinks they "own" the land.
There is no true private land ownership in the USA.

They offer the owner whatever it takes to buy the land needed or alter the pipeline route to follow a route where they can buy land. How tough is this? I'd negotiate for them to put it in my backyard. That's an ignorant statement. NIMBY doesn't apply.Originally posted by FreightTrain View PostOh so it's ok as long as its not in your backyard. They were going to have to put it some where.I wear a Fez. Fez-es are cool

Not true. Hell, Medina wanted to go as far as removing property taxes because you do own your land once you buy it from the bank. Question is, how far are you willing to go to fight to keep it?Originally posted by jayjohnson600 View PostSure, it's a problem, but only for the party that thinks they "own" the land.

Paying property taxes? Certainly not true ownership of private property.
Texas used to have a provision to obtain an alloidial title to property, but even then it was
not true private property ownership that's with eliminating future taxation of the property.
Yet, still subject to eminent domain, and alloidial title was not inheritable, certainaly not
true ownership.
Lots of misconceptions. Don't use hearsay and assumptions to build a defense, especially
when true private property ownership will not hold up legally. It's been attempted many
times. Private property owners by persons will always be subordinate and never truly
alloidial, and therefore not a true private property ownership.Jay Johnson

That's so ridiculous. You can't say one thing as common knowledge and then try to pull some slimey lawyer bullshit on me. I could care less how some judge, court, lawyer, etc wants to twist meanings around and play word games. When it comes down to it, I am defending with fierceness what is mine.Originally posted by jayjohnson600 View PostPaying property taxes? Certainly not true ownership of private property.

THIS
My father fought the city of Balch Spring for about 2 years over imminent domain. The property he owned sat between a Super Wal-Mart and 635 and they wanted to pay him HALF their own tax valuation. He fought and eventually won but it became a full time job and he went into debt to do it.
I think everyone still supports the pipeline but dont care for the imminent domain bull shit.Originally posted by FreightTrain View PostLol 99% of this board was for the pipeline so what's the problem.
