As many of you have, I've been reading the thread about the innocent little kids and what transpired in Connecticut today as well as trying to follow it on radio at work and I will probably turn on the tv at some point tonight. I havent commented in that thread because I am genuinely at a loss for words and I cant think of anything to say that remotely comes close to how I feel about today's events. The more this happens, the more I feel like we, as people, are a lost cost and are ultimately doomed. But my question is about gun control. Most of us here agree, outlawing or banning guns in general, is not the answer and this keeps guns primarily out of the hands of law abiding, upstanding citizens and doesnt do much, if anything at all, to keep them from criminals. So what ideas do ya'll have that could be the solution? What about psych evalutations being required before a purchase or having one on file for every x many years? I would be ok with that. It is just an idea or example but these kid's death cut pretty deep in me and surely all of you.

I think thats a terrible idea, just another way to twist it around and make it harder for people to get something. Its just like getting pulled over if the cop wants.. they can find SOMETHING to write ticket. Same thing applies to that. What they should do is actually start punishing these people. A guy shoots up a place and is taken alive. Take him to the town square and gut him brave heart style. Make an example of these worthless pieces of shit and people will think twice.Originally posted by TEAMJACOB View PostAs many of you have, I've been reading the thread about the innocent little kids and what transpired in Connecticut today as well as trying to follow it on radio at work and I will probably turn on the tv at some point tonight. It might be a terrible idea. I am interested in hearing alternatives. All we hear is one side screaming to ban guns and they other pleading not to. There needs to be a different solution. Also, these guys almost always kill themselves so none of them face any "consequences" for their actions since they know ahead of time they arent surviving the day. There are exeptions but most kill themselves.Originally posted by onemeangixxer7502 View PostI think thats a terrible idea, just another way to twist it around and make it harder for people to get something. You think criminals will not obey laws banning guns, but they will be willing to sit down for a psych eval ? Lets use a little more sense than that.
Also, I don't hear anyone calling for a ban on religion or a test to speak freely.Last edited by LANTIRN; 12-14-2012, 09:51 PM.I don't like Republicans, but I really FUCKING hate Democrats.

I cant help but agree here. I am just wondering if anything could have been done to save all those kids and not see something like this happen again. I know you cant eradicate the problem all together (human nature) but maybe minimize these type of tragedies.Originally posted by Broncojohnny View PostThere is no solution to human nature.

Emotion aside, what other right do you want tests and mental evals before you're permitted to exercise them?Originally posted by TEAMJACOB View PostAs many of you have, I've been reading the thread about the innocent little kids and what transpired in Connecticut today as well as trying to follow it on radio at work and I will probably turn on the tv at some point tonight. like i said, the psych test was just an example. I really wanted to hear more of you guys thoughts for a better system. I dont have one and am not saying that a psych test is the best answer. If I wanted to buy more guns and they wanted me to do a psych test, i'd do it if i wanted the gun bad enough.Originally posted by Forever_frost View PostEmotion aside, what other right do you want tests and mental evals before you're permitted to exercise them?

I dont disagree with this train of thought at all. Do you think anything at all can be added to the gun purchasing process that would help or do you feel it is all irrelevant. I agree guns arent the problem, its the crazies that use them. I jjust want crazies to not have them.Originally posted by Forever_frost View PostWhat would have stopped this would have been armed teachers. Douche walks in and pulls a pistol, he's gunned down. That simple.

doesnt matter, adolph obama is not gonna have brains and let our teachers have guns. he wants to round them up for his NWO. wish secret service would have a fucking "unfortunate" accident and empty a mag into him, biden, pelosi, and any other lib within reach. Instead of killing innocent people or kids, why cant one of these dickheads decide to fucking strap on some serious c4 and go out with a fucking bang at the next democratic cock juggling meet?Originally posted by TEAMJACOB View PostI dont disagree with this train of thought at all. you cant read someones mind. they may not seem crazy until after the fact. the best protection is for the public to be armed so that when this happens it is stopped quickly instead of allowing 28 people to die helplessly.Originally posted by TEAMJACOB View PostI dont disagree with this train of thought at all.
