Your CHL is Utah, does that show up when they run your Texas plates? The one time I recall being stopped I produced my CHL and the officer handed it back with nary a glance, stating that he didn't need it.

Been stopped by a couple state troopers over the years; they told me I should tell them about it but didn't make much of a stink.

You almost can't get a CHL in Maryland, or at least, it used to be hard. They also used to dick with CHL holders from other states, so that sticker makes for a distinct non-advantage.

It takes an act of God to get a CHL in MD. One must prove to the State Police “good and substantial reason” to carry. From what I've heard they will not even look at you unless you are a business owner who carries a certain amount of cash on your person.

If the car is registered in your name it should pull up whether or not you have a permit.
