What does it matter about legislators when Mein Führer keeps sending out EO's??

This is a crisis manufactured by the media. Obama has no hope of ever seeing gun control legislation come out of congress and he knows it, thus the executive orders. All he needs to do is issue an executive order that includes confiscation of "assault weapons" and the powderkeg will go off.

For the most part, the same ones that pushed it through in 1994.

The real reason? Power. Control. You put someone on food stamps, you control what they eat. TANF? You control what they buy. Section 8 housing? Where they live. Their guns? Their ability to stand up for their rights.

People really do underestimate the amount/type of person who is pro gun.

It wouldn't take a big spark right now to get things rolling. A lot of people are on the edge, be it financially or mentally. The last four years have seen zero improvement in my opinion. A lot of people have had a change in lifestyle that they never imagined they would see. A large part of this country has been fucked so hard they wake up wondering if there is a way out. When it is the same entity doing all the reaming, you eventually get tired of getting the shaft without even a courtesy spit. We are at this point.

I also think self serving interests are at the highest levels they've ever been. I don't see that happening again, and even if it were to happen, it would be right back to Honey Boo Boo because none of the other stuff affects them.
So fucking sad, but terribly true.

tl;dr I agree that people will violently resist at some point.

When the moderates in our country become as divided as now, it is time to really start worrying. Shit is on the path to get bad quick, it just needs a spark. the 0bama regime attempting to legislate via EO will be that spark. And how America goes, so goes the rest of the world. When the SHTF here, it will throw this entire world into chaos. Most people are oblivious to how fast this situation could dissolve into chaos, but the 0bama regime does, and that is why they are placing their chess pieces in place right now.

Accept it and move on, no sense in getting worked up over things you can't change.

Unfortunately I think you are both right, the Gov is smart enough to do this in baby steps. The sheep will just follow along until it is too late. Those that would fight will be unorganized and ineffective. I know some members on this board, myself included will fight. But it will not really do much. Then you will have those that run to the mountains, which will be rough to stay hidden in this day and age. I doubt that they will last long, those that try to fight it out in the cities will run out of food and water really quick.

The Gov has us where they want us.

It wouldn't need to be a "full scale revolt" to get the 'shtf' event rolling. I think an event not larger than the Branch Davidian fiasco in Waco would do it.

My opinion is that one small event could set it off. Something from this regime, like 0bama doing a weapon ban like NY via EO.
