We had a kid play hide and go seek behind a tank in Korea. When the tankers cranked up in our AO, they backed over the pair. It was a horrific sight and I know it cost taxpayers a small fortune. Hell, counselors were dealing with us for over a week

After 16 years of riding on those, I can say there is NO WAY they didn't know the tank was moving, the 700+ degree exhaust, the 1 minute start cycle, the earth shaking or the turbine engine screaming at them. If they were in the AO then they were most likely slicky boy and deserved to get squished

While I was there anyone who caught a slicky boy was treated to dinner in the Officers club by the Battalion Commander. lol

It was a 4 day pass for us, everyone on guard was carrying a handle for a pick ax.

From what command told us, they were playing and the sound of the tank starting scared them so they hunkered down. But at least they died together so that's something. As far as slicky boy....dear Lord. Steal everything but your weapon.

I used to sleep with my NVGs in my sleeping bag. But that was only when they forced me to sign them out. I tried to avoid them when we were in the field.

It ended up with them crashing their motorcycle and my dad with his .38 in his hand. It's probably my favorite story about him.
