Universal Background checks are the cornerstone of confiscation. National database of who has what. It's only the beginning. With this momentum they have, the attempts to grab our firearms will never end.

That is nowhere in Feinstein's amendment. She knows what would happen.
It may not be in the amendment. It is all about laying the groundwork for future use. Desensitizing us, picking their battles and chipping away at our rights.

Does someone have a list of Senators and Representatives so that emails can be sent out to them?

You're dead on the money. He kept citing some earlier case saying it showed we could never lose the right to bear arms.

I think they'll attempt it, it won't go well.

To add, I find it interesting that concealed handgun license applications have doubled in Newtown since the shootings. Hmmm.

another thing to ponder.. One of my old teachers used to have a saying....

"The Empty Wagon makes the most noise"

Some of our supposed "Friends" ie Republicans who have been spouting off about how they support the 2A aren't any better than the Dems and are posturing themselves for future gain...

She's thinking all those lobbyists' from Sandy Hook (who used to be parents) will cry long and hard enough to the senate to pull off the vote. Not one single right they want to take away from us would have saved ANY of those kids.

Ghost...here's your answer... Guys, we're fucked!!

    From our friend Ted Cruz

Why did the Senate vote on a gun bill no one had even read? Joint statement with United States Senator Mike Lee and Senator Rand Paul:

This morning the Senate will vote on the motion to proceed to the firearms bill (S.649). It is expected that the Toomey-Manchin provision announced yesterday will replace the current language regarding background checks. Yet, as of this morning, not a single senator has been provided the legislative language of this provision. Because the background-check measure is the centerpiece of this legislation it is critical that we know what is in the bill before we vote on it. The American people expect more and deserve better.

Unfortunately, the effort to push through legislation that no one had read highlights one of the primary reasons we announced our intention to force a 60 vote threshold. We believe the abuse of the process is how the rights of Americans are systematically eroded and we will continue to do everything in our power to prevent it.

I'd debate a bill that would allow ignorance to be exposed. I just don't see how this is even a fight. Anyone that wants restrictions on ways for people to defend themselves is not a true American. Period. Unfortunately, America has way too many Non-American Americans.
