I'm not a part of the ACLU, but I imagine they think the IRS is pretty well covered in litigation at this point, either that or they didn't think it merited their involvement. They don't take all the cases they're presented with, only some of them.Originally posted by line-em-up View PostI expect them to start fighting against the IRS any minute.

Bullshit they do. They refuse to take gun rights cases because they think it is a "collective" right. Even though the Supreme Court has ruled otherwise.Originally posted by racrguy View PostI wonder if you guys realize the ACLU fights for both sides.Originally posted by racrguyWhat's your beef with NPR, because their listeners are typically more informed than others?Originally posted by racrguyVoting is a constitutional right, overthrowing the government isn't.

So you meant to say "They fight for both sides except on the most important issue in conservative ideaology on which they decide to take a pass".Originally posted by racrguy View PostThere is no one organization in existence I agree with 100%. What about you?
I completely agree with a number of organizations that I can name. That has nothing to do with what you said.Originally posted by racrguyWhat's your beef with NPR, because their listeners are typically more informed than others?Originally posted by racrguyVoting is a constitutional right, overthrowing the government isn't.

So, they choose not to fight on gun rights, so that means they don't fight for conservatives. Well hell, here I was thinking that there were more stances on the conservative side than being for the second amendment. Silly me.Originally posted by Broncojohnny View PostSo you meant to say "They fight for both sides except on the most important issue in conservative ideaology on which they decide to take a pass".

When was the last time they stood up to an atheist organization for the right to worship as someone chooses? Or, gone against the NAACP for their racist policies and did they go after the Black Panthers on the voter intimidation thing?Originally posted by racrguy View PostSo, they choose not to fight on gun rights, so that means they don't fight for conservatives. It's late, how about you show me the part where they stood up. I don't feel like reading through cases
Actually, this one: http://www.aclumich.org/courts/legal-dockets#9religion is all about them fighting anyone trying to practice their religion. Want to spin the wheel again?I wear a Fez. Fez-es are cool

I can't find a single case listed under their "FREEDOM OF RELIGION AND BELIEF" (the section that you're linking to) that is "fighting anyone trying to practice their religion".Originally posted by Forever_frost View PostActually, this one: http://www.aclumich.org/courts/legal-dockets#9religion is all about them fighting anyone trying to practice their religion. Could you be more specific on the case you're referring to?Scientists do not coddle ideas. They crash test them. They run them into a brick wall at 60 miles per hour and then examine the pieces.
If the idea is sound, the pieces will be that of the wall.
