Per Google (national stats) the 1% covers rape and/or incest. They can take a pill the next day, which is readily available to anyone who can walk in and ask for them, or they have 4 1/2 months to get the procedure done. Hell, even the vatican has approved the "morning after pill" for rape and incest.Originally posted by jdgregory84 View PostWhat percentage of abortions do you believe are performed that are actually a result of rape? A quick google search says 1%. I wouldn't be surprised if it's actually less than that.

Screw the 20 weeks, what matters now is the crazy requirements for clinics to operate under in order for a patient to take a plan B pill or another abortion pill.
For those pills to work you typically have to consume them quite a bit sooner than that 20 week period, yet now you have to spend money on hospital visits with practicing physicians so that they can watch you swallow a pill? Most people in these situation do not have insurance, and even if they did, it would not be covered, so increasing the cost will reduce the possibility.
Seems like a way to prevent people from getting the abortion all together.

I can understand that. Reason being is those who are not parents, do not appreciate life for what it is and are self-loathing cock suckers deem themselves the experts as to when life actually begins when it is a scientific fact life starts at conception. I do not understand why this is being argued anyway? Abortions are still legal and, as stated, if they are too stupid to make up their mind before the deadline they should be aborted as well.Originally posted by racrguy View PostCoooooool straw man, bro.

Continue to wait. It relates solely to my opinion on this topic and why I believe a 20 week fetus is alive.Originally posted by racrguy View PostYour doctor missed out on letting the world know about a medical miracle, as such, I have no other alternative but to dismiss your claim that someone lived after being born at 18 weeks. I'm waiting for the relevance of anything you said after "however."
What makes you think this is an argument for the sake of an argument?

We can all have our own opinions, we are not entitled to our own facts.Originally posted by diablo rojo View PostContinue to wait. It relates solely to my opinion on this topic and why I believe a 20 week fetus is alive.
It's not your place to determine what someone does with their own body until the point of viability. They can wait until the day before and you should have no say in it. The 20 week timeline is bullshit pseudoscience. The facts are that no fetus has ever survived prior to 21 weeks 5 days, and even at that date it has only happened twice in recorded history.Originally posted by diablo rojo View PostIt shouldn't have to. How long do people need to make a decision? 4-5 months seems like an awful long time.
People cannot legislate morality. Look at all forms of prohibition, that shit plain doesn't work.
SS junk, this bill isn't only about the 20 week deadline, it's also about the closure of all but 5-6 locations in the state that meet the new regulations, effectively banning abortions to all but a select portion of the population. You also need to prove that life begins at conception.
If pro choice people don't want to have an abortion, fine, don't have one, but don't you dare tell anyone else they can't have one prior to the point of viability. It's not your choice to make.
I liken this to the gay rights movement, in that people who don't like something are trying to dictate their likes or dislikes on others who do not share their opinion on the matter.

20 weeks. 4 months. Plenty of time to decide what to do.Originally posted by racrguy View PostAnd the new bill doesn't care if you were raped.
Besides, isn't this a compromise? I don't like abortions. You do. You have 1/2 the time to decide to get an abortion. Pro-life gets the other half.
Crazy requirements? It's the same requirements as ANY OTHER surgery center. Clean operating rooms? That's crazy? Having a hospital lined up in case something goes wrong? That's crazy?Originally posted by Venix View PostScrew the 20 weeks, what matters now is the crazy requirements for clinics to operate under in order for a patient to take a plan B pill or another abortion pill.

No murder? No stealing? No rape? Seems like plenty of laws on the books legislating morality already.Originally posted by racrguy View PostWe can all have our own opinions, we are not entitled to our own facts.

Because Jesus told them it was wrong. If they dont stop it the country will backslide into sin, bring on God`s judgement and wrath unless they pass as many laws as they can to make such things illegal.Originally posted by racrguy View PostWe can all have our own opinions, we are not entitled to our own facts.

In other news.... The same conservative supporters met today on their local court house lawns to protest that the government should stop with its overbearing intrustion, get off their backs, out and of peoples "private" lives.

Its ok, in about 10 years due to death, old age, and other factors of local district attrition, there should be less people voting these types of politicians into office that pass these kinds of laws in the first place.Originally posted by stevo View PostDon't like the abortion laws in Texas?
Move somewhere else. Problem solved.
