Do you use your car insurance for maintaining your vehicle? Perhaps home owners insurance for regular upkeep on your house. Health is the only institution where we use insurance for maintenance duties, and the reason it has become as such is because 1) insurance is paying for it, leading to the idea that "It's not my money, so why do I care?" We need to tackle the cost and mindset issues, not who's going to pay for it.

Guest repliedThis country is so lopsided when it comes to the people vs corporations, I honestly can't believe anyone would be in favor of giving them more power. They already run the goddamn country.

So when looking for a job, one of the 'perks' was to get offered health coverage, and that may sway you to choosing that company, even if the pay wasnt equal. Now we expect it to be offered, and make laws to ensure that it happens.

READ THE OPINION, make your own determination. If you go to work for a closely held corporation that holds their religious tenants in high regard, then expect them to be able to operate as they see fit. Which is exactly how it should be. The government should have ZERO say in how a company operates.
The discussion will become how broad "closely held" will be defined.
