Don't bother. Any time he lacks a coherent argument he just repeats the word Constitution over and over again until the other party gets bored with it and gives up. I'm convinced it's a weird form of tourettes at this point.

What no one is discussing is the real problem that is at play here, Individual Responsibility.
If people would just be responsible for themselves then employers wouldn't have to(and shouldn't be) responsible for this bullshit.

You mean beyond the Supreme Law of the land that states that all powers not expressly granted to the federal government (18 enumerated powers and amendments) belong to the states. If that authority isn't granted to the federal government, they are unable (constitutionally and thus legally) to spend tax dollars on it.Originally posted by exlude View PostErrr, you might want to progress past your middle school learnings....
Simple constitutional understanding. It's even written in English so it's simple.

12 years an employee?Originally posted by bcoop View PostDing ding ding. I've got no sympathy for anyone who complains about employers. You don't like it? Leave. You're not a slave. And Hobby Lobby isn't your parent. Go get all 20 forms of birth control from Wal Mart, and let me know how that minimum wage lifestyle is.
Not 100% accurate. They pay an insurance service company that negotiates with doctors. In these instances, Hobby Lobby IS the insurance company, they bear the cost, they just use someone like BCBS to hand the paperwork and funds transfers. So you have this giant blackbox that no one has access to, but that tells a Dr. they get $20 for this procedure, then tells the company that they must pay $80 for that service and the $60 in the middle gets "processed" by BCBS.Originally posted by racrguy View PostThey're paying an insurance company.
Have you signed up? I also disagree with the term tax, because you have, theoretically, zero say in the matter. You don't play, you get fined. You do play, you get fucked.Do we get a say in how our taxes are spent? Not that I agree with the ACA, but if it is a tax then they'll just have to nut up and deal with it.
Gargamel, do you ever have anything to add to a conversation?

No. The constitution dictates what the federal government may spend taxes on.Originally posted by racrguy View PostThey're paying an insurance company.

When it comes to the federal government, yes. I thought this was simple stuff taught in middle school.Originally posted by YALE View PostSo if it's not in the Constitution, it's not law? Try again.
EDIT: Title VII of the 1964 Equal Rights Act, so it actually is in the motherfucking Constitution. Have a nice day.
Further: Looks like they're a declared Equal Opportunity Employer, so they've got to comply with Title VII.

I expanded the thought\range of the discussion using a quote from the article (which directly relates to the ACA), so sue me.Originally posted by racrguy View PostIf we were directly talking about the ACA, sure, I can see where your comment came from, but we were talking specifically about the lawsuit and the reasoning behind it.
If you feel it has no merit, move the hell on...

I thought it was applicable to the topic... Obamacare \ Federal Mandates and the related fall out.
What you think (or anyone else thinks for that matter) is irrelevant other than the owner\moderators of this site.
If the powers that be block\delete my posts because of it, so be it. (It's just a friggin message board)
If you don't like it, feel free to put me on ignore.
Other than that, I'm going to post what I feel is relevant.

Sure, whatever you say...Originally posted by racrguy View PostYou don't annoy me, you, and a great many others sadden me. People wonder why the government and the country is so fucked up, it's because of situations like this where people would rather say nonsensical bullshit than to actually engage in conversation.

Typically it's beneficial to actually have a conversation about something and talk about what you think about a given situation. Apparently you can't be bothered to do that.
