        It doesn't matter where you live, taxes get you in one form or another, Income/Property/Sales/etc. It's just divied up different ways. You get screwed one way or another.

                      Just for reference, Texas hasn't seen a gas tax hike since 1991. It's like $0.20 a gallon currently.
