        If you don't have one you're pretty much fucked from that time period. Still trying to secure my dads from National Archives for well over 9 months. Big fire in early 70's wiped out millions of records.

        Anyone have in insight to this code
        BR18-585-059

        Its supposedly his Army id, but the BR is not a valid prefix code.

          It could be an ER which would be Army Reserve enlisted. It'd mean 8th Corps area which includes Texas and they enlisted between 1949-1960.
