Like I said "I can't think of many children who can bank roll an expensive habit". Have you checked the prices of a dope habit lately? Most adults crash and burn trying to support their habit and adults are in general more capable then children. You could also use the same argument against legalizing alcohol and tobacco; oh wait, that argument WAS used against the legalizing of alcohol and for making it illegal in the first place.Originally posted by Magnus View PostWhat the fuck makes you think kids buying drugs are going to be doing it with some kind of fucking allowance from parents, and not from shit they've stolen from people's cars/homes/etc?
The only thing that the war on drugs has accomplished is to kill the 4th amendment and to make some really bad people VERY VERY VERY VERY rich.
Would you care to explain to me what a "Victory" in the war on drugs would even look like? You can't can you.Last edited by svauto-erotic855; 07-14-2015, 02:01 PM.Magnus, I am your father. You need to ask your mother about a man named Calvin Klein.

amazing leap in logic thereOriginally posted by GeorgeG. View PostThe problem I have with it is that every one of them had "intent to distribute". Which means at some point they probably sold to kids. They want to harm themselves, fine. Reeling in kids to support your income/habit is a different story.
you can be charged with intent for having over 1oz of marijuana

The police can focus on new things with drugs legal, like theft.Originally posted by Magnus View PostWhat the fuck makes you think kids buying drugs are going to be doing it with some kind of fucking allowance from parents, and not from shit they've stolen from people's cars/homes/etc?

To be honest, I guess I am. I don't care if people want to smoke it up. Just don't come around my kids and sure as hell don't offer them any. Having said that, I wont go out of my way to vote in favor of legalization but if it ever passed, fine by me.Originally posted by Baron Von Crowder View Postso you are for legalization also?
I cant comment on how the laws are written. I can't even tell you what an oz. looks like, quantity wise. If that's a week's worth, then id say the "intent to distribute" charge is bs. I just assumed they were caught selling or busted with a mass amount of weed, scales, cash, and cow skin rugs.Originally posted by Cooter View Postamazing leap in logic there

I do think its pitiful that drug users have received decades of prison time from back in the 70s or 80s, and rapists and killers get practically a slap on the wrist in some cases.

Not in Texas you can't. You either deliver it or possess it. No such thing as possession with intent on marijuana.Originally posted by Cooter View Post

If you are in TX and the Feds get involved you can be charged with whatever they care to make up in your PSI. ANY amount of pot gets you 60 months minimum if you are charged in federal court for it. Pot is still a schedule 1 in the federal system.Originally posted by dcs13 View PostNot in Texas you can't. You either deliver it or possess it. No such thing as possession with intent on marijuana.

You remember the stories John use to tell us about the the three chinamen playing Fantan? This guy runs up to them and says, "Hey, the world's coming to an end!" and the first one says, "Well, I best go to the mission and pray," and the second one says, "Well, hell, I'm gonna go and buy me a case of Mezcal and six whores," and the third one says "Well, I'm gonna finish the game." I shall finish the game, Doc.

Gotta agree with you on this one. But maybe raise the penalties for operating machinery while on any of the newly legalized substances. Basically saying, you do what you want, but as soon as you put others in danger, its yo ass. Also the workplace can fire you with no questions asked, if you're coming to work messed up. Its probably already that way, but I know you'd have the new batch of morons thinking that because its now legal, they can do it whenever and wherever they want, totally screwing up whatever processes they want.Originally posted by YALE View PostLet all the non-violent drug offenders out, and legalize all drugs. There are federal laws defining possession with intent in addition to the state laws that don't cover it.Originally posted by dcs13 View PostNot in Texas you can't. You either deliver it or possess it. No such thing as possession with intent on marijuana.
