Since Fox isn't warming up the gas chambers for him because he was trying to recruit impressionable kids to join ISIS, it seems more logical that he was simply demonstrating one of the freedoms guaranteed to us by the First Amendment, and Fox seized a chance to jump on an anti-American liberal.

Exactly. I agree that it's disrespectful and think that there are better ways to demonstrate First Amendment rights, but what he did is not illegal. I don't think it's grounds for firing, either, unless there was a whole lot more that hasn't come out yet.
