Government is definitely corrupt, but I still manage to have a little faith in the judiciary at that level. It's the one place in our system where language actually seems to matter. It is the only check and balance that works, if not always, at least somewhat consistently. More consistently than the legislative and executive by a long shot.

He is a narcissist and an asshole but he is also an outsider who doesn't really allow them to play their game all that well. Their game being to fill their pockets and/or get re-elected. But if the SC heard it and ruled one way or the other there were going to be huge consequences. Claiming that Texas has no right to even complain is taking the easiest way out from a political perspective.

Like I said, this is a shitshow. Here's the problem, if the SCOTUS overturned the election, the entire democrat party and it's media wing is going to be screaming that Trump elected them, and they're his personal stooges, and we're now living in a dictatorship.

Yep. If the American people had any balls, Bush would have been forcefully removed at the first mention of the patriot act. Roosevelt should have been sent to prison for sending American citizens to an internment camp. SCOTUS should have been out on their asses the first time they allowed unconstitutional DUI checkpoints, for "the greater good". There should have been a fight when the police were confiscating guns after Katrina.

So yeah, they know the people are too civilized and too divided to actually unite and do something. Now they will see how far they can push before we reach the breaking point.
