Im probably going to get jumped for saying this, BUT

the bright side of the military not getting paid will be that Obama will buy his ticket out of the White House. There will be a lot of pissed off military members and families that will not vote for his ass come 2012

Ya. I received a payment in full from the DoD about 4 days ago for $3XX,XXX and just sent another one off. I'll let you know how that one goes. I have one that should be coming back for about $5XX,XXX around the 20th. I have received no notice of delay, though. I usually hear that if there is a problem with delivery. My invoices might keep getting paid since the whole funding for my contract was set aside in full. Granted, it's a lot smaller than the Dept. of Army, but money is still money.

Well I guess the government is just preparing them for when they get 1/2 pay. I see what your saying Denny the second half of their pay will take place during the possible shutdown. Still pretty shitty deal any way you look at it.

It's normally the 15th but it looks like it will be The 11th, article I read says we will be paid for whatever we earn up the shut down of the government.

After the shut down we are supposed to be reimbursed what we are owed, I just foresee a huge cluster fuck with this, especially coming off a deployment, anyone that has ever had a pay issue in the military knows sometimes it can be a royal pain to get it straightened out. Now with everyone in the military having a pay issue... going to be a whole lot of no fun

That's weird. I flew into Kuwait and got the first flight to my base with no problems. I guess the pilots didn't get the memo.

No one should have received any pay freezes as of yet. The first ones affected would see it around the 15th of this month. None of the operations out here will be affected other than the troops' pay. Operationally, it'll still be the same (unless the troops stage a walk-out LOL).

This is truely a fucked up situation for them, though... especially since Congress and POTUS are still getting paid.

I think that is the part that really baffles everyone. Are they not a part of the government? How the hell are they excluded from the mess THEY created. A militia should be formed to round up Obama, throw him with congress, create a blockade outside of Congress forcing them to sit and get this straight now. We will allow water and bread to be sent in. For every agreement that has been made, we will send in one prostitute and Dan Bishop.

They consider themselves exempt since they are "essential," yet I see no planes loading up the troops and heading home.
