I think that is the part that really baffles everyone. Are they not a part of the government? How the hell are they excluded from the mess THEY created. A militia should be formed to round up Obama, throw him with congress, create a blockade outside of Congress forcing them to sit and get this straight now. That's weird. I flew into Kuwait and got the first flight to my base with no problems. I guess the pilots didn't get the memo.

No one should have received any pay freezes as of yet. The first ones affected would see it around the 15th of this month. None of the operations out here will be affected other than the troops' pay. Operationally, it'll still be the same (unless the troops stage a walk-out LOL).

Barry can pay the troops ANY TIME HE WANTS TOO. He can sign an executive order, just like Reagan AND Clinton both did when this situation came up during their presidencies. I dont understand how that a couple hundred people control more wealth in this country then 3,000,000! The middle class is disappearing in this country & it going fast. Once the gap is made between the rich & poor in this country it will be hard to get the wealth out of the hands of the rich & create a middle class again in this country!

I dont understand why shutting the pay down for the Army, Marines, Air Force, Navy is fair to the people serving our country. They stand to lose their lifes everyday across Sea's trying to protect our country. But they cant collect pay to support their children & wifes at home!

What has this country come to! Old men create war & young men fight them. It seems old men get to keep their pay while young men take the hit too now these days.

This has already started. My brother-in-law is deployed to Afghanistan and his wife my sister said she just looked at his statement and he was only paid for one weeks pay instead of two. They have been told that until this is resolved there will be no more pay.

He has also been waiting for a plane ride to Kuwait for a week now for R&R. I was supposed to pick him up at DFW this morning but he is still in Afghanistan

It's been taking awhile lately to fob hop, it took me a week to get to Kuwait and I'm in Iraq. On the way back it took 5 days to go from base in Iraq back up to mine. Just waiting onflights.

I do not see how a shut down will save the government any money, contracts will still have to be paid, the work load will continue to pile up, and government workers will have to put in overtime to catch up. the last shut down actually cost the government 400 million dollars.

I honestly don't care if it saved a dime at this point.

The free-for-all spending habits of our Federal government has to stop.

If I have to have a realistic and balanced budget, the dolts up on the hill need one too... as they are using OUR money.

I blame both sides of the isle for this.... so as far as I'm concerned, stop the merry-go-round until the folks up on the hill can get their shit together... Its way past time....
