Whats everyones strategy for keeping the insects outside? DIY or paid service?

I dont have anything like roaches, ants or anything relating to an infestation - just find the occasional pillbug, spider or daddylongleg. Pretty sure the main try is through a poor door weatherseal or the dog door. Those are easy to fix/deal with but i'm thinking long term plan.

Here's been my routine since I got my house. Every 3 months I do the following:

Put spectrazide around the entire house. Also, I put those ant spikes around the house as well.

In the house I have those roach baits and ant baits in the kitchen and bathrooms. Last I spray in the house with either Spectrazide or Ortho around windows, closets, doorways, and other random areas.

I also spray my backyard with spectrazide mainly just to keep fleas/ticks/etc away for my dogs.

This has worked quite well for me for almost 3yrs now that I've lived here.
