I got a swamp for a pool and need a good pool service to come check my pump , pipes and get it up and running . I have taken care of this every year and have great chemicals that make it easy but my pump seams to not have the suction it used to . I am thinking I may have a crack in a pipe or the pump may be going out so I need profesional help . Anybody do this or have a contact . I wanna support my board boys if possible before I hit the yellow pages .

The gauge isn't reading hardly at all . When I start the pump it will pull ok then in a few minutes it doesn't hardly pull at all . I'm not to pool savey and the guy I bought the house from gave me a quick tutoral but he is long gone . I had a cracked pipe last year close to the pump and fixed it myself and got it up and going but this year its bad . I want a pro to clean it up , get it going , then I will keep up with it . I will try both those #'s and see what they say . Thanks guys .Originally posted by Skidmark View PostHave you checked, cleaned your DE filter, and put new DE powder in it?
If your pressure gauge is reading high, maybe it's just that?Big Rooster Racing

I was thinking I had a crack in the underground pipe going from the skimmer to the pump . The pump will pull water and work but it doesn't pull as much into that chamber in the front of the pump as it used to (the chamber with the screw off see thru lid and screen basket ). I am not sure what the names of all the parts are so bear with me . After a few minutes of running it slows down and still pulls but no where near the volume it used to . As for my filter , I have one of those big beige jug looking filters . It has a small black wing nut at the top and a black lid with a clamp . I have no idea what to do with that thing or what to clean or add to it . I dont think its a clog in the filter because when I switch it to waiste water it still pumps slow and that bypasses everything . The water level if left to sit will also slowly leek down to right under the skimmer and this also makes me think there could be a cracked pipe . It takes more then a week to go down that far but it could also be evaporating from the heat . I don't mind paying to have someone who knows what they are doing fix it I just don't wan't to get bent over for repairs that aren't needed . I would rather pay a stanger as a side job and have him school me on it so I don't have to Google it and teach myself .Originally posted by 2000 vert View PostWhat kind of filter do u have. If its a pipe u should see water going every where. If the pressure is low the pot should be low. Meaning a blockage somewhere. Does the motor sound normal, if not maybe its not pumping right.
BTW , when I said pumps slow I mean the water flow not the pump . The pump sounds fine I think .Big Rooster Racing

You mean take the motor off the back side correct ? The pump pot is the body of the pump housing the impeller or the chamber at the front that the pipes connect to ?Originally posted by black50 View Postclogged impeller!!!
Simple as that, take the back of the pump off which wil show you the impeller and see if there is junk in it. If there is, clean it and buy a new pump pot basket.Big Rooster Racing

Easy fix. I fikgured it out with out any help or instructions and I'm stupid.
NOw if someone can tell me why my god damn pool keeps shooting DE into the pool after replacing all the cartridges, o-rings and having the manifold checked by three diffferent people for cracks, I would be a happy camper.Vortex rear stand $75

this powder that coats the grates on a DE filter. If you don't know what it is, you probably have a cartridge filter. Have you ever seen them clean the filter? Can you make out a model number? Generally a low pressure reading indicates something before the filter is impeding flow. High pressure is the filter or the lines back to the pool - in general.Originally posted by dumpycapri85 View PostWhats DE ?
It's worth checking the impeller first. If you think you need to pressure test it you might as well pay someone for that. Unless - someone with plumbing experience can give us a cheaper way to test than paying a few hundred for an Anderson pool pressure tester.

I'm gonna jump on the impeller tonight and I am pretty sure mine is a sand filter . It sounds to me like the impeller is one of the problems . Like a dumbass I let it get way nasty so its gonna take some work . I got tons of leaves on the botom and its so black you cant see thru it .Big Rooster Racing
