tint or window screens?

I just got a quote of about 800.00 for window screens when I could tint the windows for 300.00. My question are they worth the extra 500.00 right at the jump over the long run? I find lots of sites that are one sided and haven't found one that is bias. Thanks for any advice.

I tinted my one window that was facing west. I never liked the screens. I've been in friends' houses and it's hard to see out.

I would go the tint route.... I've tinted my old house and the lake house and it has helped with the a/c in both. Not to mention its kind of funny to watch the dog stare at the storm door wondering if anyone is on the other side.

I replaced all the screens on my GA house with the UV screen material and it made a huge difference. I didn't do the top piece, just lower. Not too sure if some of the dual plane windows are able to do tint.

Be sure tint doesn't void the warranty on your windows (if they're newer and have a warranty).

windows were in the house when I bought the house so i have no idea how to see if the would have a warranty. House was built in 99

I have three 27 sq ft windows that face west.

I tinted them and then put solar screens on the outside.

Did you notice a difference with just tint or did you do them at the same time.
