Lone Sailor, what KW output would you like to see, total?

And I thought that I replaced a lug stud or the like for you on a Ranger a while back. Must have you mixed up...
Ah yes, you did a couple of years ago. I also thought you had left and went back to the other board. Did you change your SN as well? Do you own this company or just for for them?

The house I own was built squared off the street, and the street runs in northeast and southwest direction. I would have 2 potential sections of roof that I could use. I could go up and measure if I need to. I need to go up and check the gutter soon anyway and see if they need to be cleaned out again. I could probably send you a pic from ground level from the south side of the house so you could get an idea of the facing direction. There is one tree that may or may not have some slight hindrance, but it is a huge tree so I doubt there would be any way to trim the top down with having a huge expense involved. There are also a couple of small trees on the property line, but I'm pretty sure he is going to cut them down to run electric power from the pole at the street to the new ship that he build and those trees are in the way.

1500-1800. 12 month average is around 1220/month, but I want to make sure I have reserves stored in the batteries.

    ...

I saw one on tv that was shaped like a vertical "squirrel cage" fan, like a blower fan on an AC system. It supposedly takes up less space in your yard and doesn't make the high-pitch noise that a big mast mounted wind turbine makes. However, I can't find any info on them. Does anyone know what it is called?

I appreciate it, I'll have to look into them. And never even heard of a wind generator.
Ever heard of a wind farm? Some people call them wind turbines. They are widely used across the country. They're getting real popular for residential use and there are several companies that make small condensed versions of the type that are on the wind farms. The larger residential models are capable of generating enough power to be completely off the grid(1500-1800kWh), but those are not small. The one I'm looking for is on the small size and will generate in the ballpark of 400 kWh per month(pending wind conditions).

I'm also wanting to install a small wind generator that will provide another 400-500kWh. Seems like where we live is a good spot for having the minimum amount of wind needed to operate a wind generator.

Believe it or not I've been running all day every day this week Marc. Will try and swing by Sunday or Monday if that will work?

What system's are you talking about, you have a link? Pretty interesting and they're talking of energy prices being raised as well and rationing this summer. So it would be nice to have a backup system.

There are much better systems on the market that can keep up with ALL your homes kWh needs.

Just checked the site, looks like they've been busy and added a few more. Before it was just the 1,800w solas generator, but now they're making some bigger one's.
Things aren't cheap by any means.

On that link, is that 1.4kWh per shingle per day? But no, my roof is standard builder grade, nothing out of the ordinary that I'm aware of. Options?

Would you be able to also hook up everything to the battery storage, etc?

    Sorry for the thread hijack.

Kidding around aside, I'm glad to see you are happy with Mike. I worked for him for several years and he is a great guy. I wouldn't hesitate to recommend him to anyone.

LMAO! It was a 2R C 1, Repairs not needed to prevent loss. We observed two improperly installed vent boots on the rear slope with deteriorated siding on the chimney, which could result in water damage to the interior of the dwelling.

Ahhh, the good old insurance inspection days!

And thanks bro. It's not often people have good things to say about previous bosses...

That paint on the shingles will be gone after a couple rains, Im not worried about it. That cap looks alot worse in the pics than in person!

I was telling my kids about the cap being hit like something ran into it and my son told me that he saw a bid run right into it a long time ago. Said it was dead on impact.
