  • Post up your gardens.

Post up your gardens and what you are growing this year.

My wife and I are in the beginning stages of planning one.

I would like to do three 3'x20 raised bed boxes out of railroad ties fenced in with wrought iron to match our existing fence plus chicken wire to keep the rabbits out. If I can get a deal on pea gravel we will use it as the walks in between the beds to keep the grass out.

    Carrots
    Onion
    Tomato
    Cauliflower
    Broccoli
    Jalapeno
    Red & Green Peppers
    Cilantro
    Dill
    Chives
    Strawberries

So what are you growing this season? Got any pics of your set up?
Fuck you. We're going to Costco.

    Just weeds, with an "s".

Our last attempt, after building the beds was a bust. No bees, so flowers, but not tomatoes, very few peppers, etc. Sucked.

    Good luck!

I've got part of the garden tilled and planted. Wife has a wish list a mile long for this garden this year.

        Corn (2 different varieties)
        Potatoes
        Carrots
        Lettuce
        Bell Peppers
        Anaheim Chiles
        Tomatoes (3 different varieties)
        Onions
        Spinach
        Broccoli
        Serrano Chiles
        Strawberries

I haven't measured it, nor to have the urge to, but it is somewhere in the ballpark of 20x30.

Next step is to build a fence around it to keep the dog, and unwanted critters, out of it.

If the weather holds off tomorrow, I am going to start laying out some raised beds.

Spent about 5 hours out in the yard, and in the garden, this evening. I'm beat. Got a lot accomplished though, more clean up work in the garden completed and a couple more rows established. Finished trimming the trees and removed what was left of a little blackberry bush that the former owners left surrounded by landscape timbers that I have never gotten around to. Fairly productive day overall. Tomorrow I'll be spraying for fire ants, measuring out the garden for the fence I'm going to build, do some weed eating, and clean up a few more rows in the garden to prepare for more planting this coming week. Damn my back is freakin' wrecked.

Did that small market shut down on Bonds Ranch?

I have not seen them open for a few weeks. And I drive past where it was daily.

Our veggie garden so far. Hopefully I can build the boxes this week and move in some dirt. I bought some seed starter kits that act like mini greenhouses and just need to push the seeds in tonight when I get home.

Clips to keep the lid from flying off in the wind.

The big boxes are for the salsa kit my wife started with jalepeno, onion, cilantra, tomato

If my HOA approves we are going to box in this back corner and put the boxes back there. Only issue is getting water to it.
