Cut the fucker off and run PEX with Shark Bite fittings. Cost me about 80.00 total at my old house. I was quoted 3500 just for the fix and then I had to go in and repair the floor and walls. I did a little research then Forbes pointed me into the Shark Bites and I was good to go. It's like running a garden hose.Last edited by kingjason; 01-25-2013, 07:15 PM.Whos your Daddy?

pex is only a suitable repair if you are rerouting the line through the attic or walls not for a slab penitration type repair due to the fact that shark bites are not approved for under the slab..I am a plumber and work for a leak detection company we charge 1795.00 to reroute a line its a little high but very competitive/ cheaper than most companies. Reroute's not really hard to do if you know which line it is and where it is going.

Yes I was talking about going thru the attic though. That way the next time you bust the line next to it you don't have to punch another hole in the foundation and screw up everything around it. I installed my last water heater with these also and they worked like a charm.
Once I found both manifolds it was not very hard to put my hand on the pipe and run hot water till both sides heated up. Then I just cut, sanded, and stabbed. The hardest part was drilling thru the beam in the garage that was conveniently over that bathroom. The other manifold ran up by my AC unit so it was a breeze.Whos your Daddy?
