Wish I could but I don't have the best back. I started to dig it out yesterday and had to stop when my back felt like it was on fire.

Plumber came out, spent 2 hours and couldn't find the water line much less the leak. Put compressed air on it and had bubbles all over the place. Charged me $175 for that.

Said he is getting a specialist coming out tomorrow to locate the pipe and leak so that will cost me another $225.

Then said worse case he can run another main water line from the meter to the house for $3000!!!!! That sounded retarded expensive for about a 40' run of copper line in a straight line.

I'm so fucking stressed over this whole deal and my front yard is a damn swamp. The water in the house still works so its just a leak at this point.

This guy is good. I used him from a referral and was damn pleased with his work. Was told I had a slab leak and had 3 different companies quote me over 3000 to fix it. He walked around my flooded front yard sticking some listening thing all over and told me I had a pin hole leak where concrete was poured over the boards when the foundation was done. It has finally wore a hole in the pipe. He was right. Fixed it for 600 and stayed till 10pm to do it. Would not take extra cash as a tip either. We have referred him to quite a few people and ALL have been happy.

lol and people say its a "shitty career"

jk, if you pulled the cover to the main you woulda seen where the line runs.. i dont see how he couldn't find it. it will be 18" underground from wherever you see the water coming up. if this new guy is gonna ask too much PM me and i can do it.

The water is still on to the house? If your yard line is broken and your running water through it to the house, there is a good chance that you are bring mud in with it. Mud and dirt will end up getting in to your fixtures and stop them up

I understand but I don't really have a choice. Obviously I have a leak since I still have good water pressure.

Is the pressure normal in the house? 3000 for a new line is ridiculous. We installed new yard lines with permits and inspections for almost half that

Yes everything in the house is normal. The flow meter is spinning but no where near full blast.

I agree on the price. We had the sewage replaced almost along the same path, just deeper obviously and only paid $1500 so I knew his price was high as hell.
