Indoor tropical plants with low/no light

I keep my place pretty dark most of the time, but I love tropical plants. I'd like to have one or two non-hanging type plants for my living room, but where I want to put them there really aren't going to get hardly any sun at all. I don't want to go fake. I dig leafy fronds, banana leaf style, bamboo, etc. Anyone have some suggestions or specific names of something I could get that won't die? Muchas gracias.
