Would you (or anyone here) have any use for (4) 4" x 4" x 10' redwood posts for your project? They have been stained (natural color) and sealed yearly and each post has one face that has four screw holes at one end where a bracket was mounted. These are the posts that I was using to hold up the 11' x 11' sunshade over the courtyard.

It wasn't by choice. Apparently too much tension on a turnbuckle and too much wind snapped one of the posts off at the ground while we were outside playing one day. Could have taken any of us out. I pulled the rest of the posts out which sucked as they were sunk in two feet of concrete, cut two feet off each one and here we are. I'll probably sell the sun shade as well. It's really made to be used with steel posts that are set in the ground at an angle leaning away from the shade itself. I didn't have the room to do that so went vertical. Lesson learned.Originally posted by talisman View PostThanks, Brent. I don't think so Jimmy. Thanks though. Why'd you take it down?

Oh holy shit dude. I was actually thinking about doing that set up since it would have been considerably cheaper. In the end, I didn't want to waste the money I spent on the tub by putting up a cover I was unsure of, though I liked the set up at your place. Did the whole thing come down or what? That's crazy.

Just the post that snapped, the others remained upright. Post came down on a patio chair and the table. Would have been bad news for anyone sitting in that spot at the table.Originally posted by talisman View PostOh holy shit dude. You looking to sell them or just get them out of your way? My old lady's dad may want them for something. He's been doing a lot of work to his back yard and has lots of stuff still in the planning stage. I'll ask if he would have a use for them.Originally posted by Tyrone Biggums View PostWould you (or anyone here) have any use for (4) 4" x 4" x 10' redwood posts for your project? Getting started. Funny, the people from Hearth House will be here this afternoon to install my gas log set up, too. House is really coming together. Ordered my hot tub yesterday. It will take them about 3 weeks to build it and get it here. Went with a salt water set up. Seats 6, has 81 jets, an MP3 player with a subwoofer, and a waterfall. Pretty bad ass.
