  • Appliance repair people?

I scored a practically new Whirlpool 30" wall oven. The unit went out after a self cleaning cycle so they decided to just upgrade to a convection unit because they were never really happy with this one. I did a little google searching and found it is common for the heat generated to blow the thermal fuses on the unit.

I know it is straight forward to check the fuses, however, if they are bad, I have no way to test the unit once I replace them. The unit is a hard wired 220V unit. Does anyone work on appliances around here that may be able to test it for me aftr the fuses are replaced?

My plan is to get it wotking and sell it. It is less than a year old and still looks brand new. It is a wos51ec0as iirc. It hs had the two speed fan upgrade and control board replaced. These sell for about $1200 brand new

I will have to find a 220v outlet! I don't have one here. Though I hadn't thought about that

Picked the unit up yesterday. Pulled the thrmal fuse and tested it. No surprise it is bad. Ordered today, hopefully it is up and running next week. Does anyone know someone looking for a wall oven? Lol

Thrmal fused showed today. I went to get a plug and realized, my dryer plug is a three wire and the oven is a 4 wire. So I didn't buy a cord. I checked behind the oven when I got home and it is wired for an electric oven. So I should know tomorrow if I got a hell of a deal on the oven or not

I should have known this wouldn't be a simple fix. Ohm'd the old thermal fuse, verified bad. I replaced the fuse, however I want to test the oven to verify that was the only problem. Attached a 4 wire oven lead, plug it in, only to find that the oven recepticle in this house is dead (our oven is gas so it uses 110V for its basic electrical functions)

Now, short of having an electrician fix the outlet, I have an expensive oven to sell and can't verify its function.
