We chose just a simple colored plaster. I didn't want to pay the upgraded cost of pebbletec. Also my wife had a pebbletec finish once before and didn't care for the feeling of it on her feet.Originally posted by JordonMusser View PostsigpicComment

Hmm... It was more expensive to add pebbletec with my builder. Pebbeltec will last longer that plaster and is more durable. It is rough, but not horrible.
We chose harbor blue and if i had to do it again I would choose a coating other than plaster because it shows the inconsistencies in the trowel work easier. It's not very noticeable, but I see it.sigpicComment

My pool is "all shallow" so I am worried about walking on a surface that is not smooth. My current pool is standard plaster, and have no issues.
May ask my PB about pebble sheen.. seems its smoother?Comment

I've got a friend that has pebbletec and his pool didn't seem rough by any stretch. Now if you jump from one with pebbletec to one with pebblesheen, you will notice a difference, but nothing I can't live with.Originally posted by JordonMusser View Post

They finished the rock features and coping, but I'm not exactly thrilled with the height of the rock on either side of the tabletop waterfall, so need to discuss with the builder, as well as a few odd looking flagstones...

I didn't end up doing a waterfall like that because all of the standard ones I've seen ended up looking awkward. I went with a rock wall that trickled water across the entire wall instead. My next pool will have a larger water feature, but built into the landscape somehow.
I like the step into the spa too. I didn't think about that so it's a bit of a step down to get into our spa. I like your fire pit too.sigpicComment
