I like those but they would be a pain to shave off on a corner wall or I would have a 3" gap all around.Originally posted by Hmbre97 View Post
That's not even taking into consideration the top V cut that would make it look off. Those are some of the ones I first thought about.

Fireplace
I wanted a simple design on mine. I have a similar shaped wall my fireplace is on. I tore down the pre-fab gaudy one the builder used. I used a piece of granite off of Craigs list for 40 bucks. The mantle is a piece of cypress from an old plantation in Louisiana. The stone is the "featherweight" Airstone from Home Depot. Easy to install. Then I put down wood floors. All is left is to paint the walls.
This Airstone can easily be installed on the entire wall with little problems. Very easy to work with and cut.

^^ how wide is your wall, i'm going to need about 30sq ft of the stuff
also did you put up cement board or just attach it to the wall via thinset?Last edited by 03mustangdude; 07-23-2014, 04:02 PM.

My fireplace wall is about 7' wide. The air weight faux stone weighs almost nothing. No backer board is needed. Just the thinset that they sell to go with the air weight stone. It dries in minutes! You put it right on the painted Sheetrock. Very easy to work with. I used a miter box and a hacksaw as recommended. Go see it at Home Depot. You cannot tell the difference between it and real heavy stone!Originally posted by 03mustangdude View Post^^ how wide is your wall, i'm going to need about 30sq ft of the stuff
