  • Anyone installed their own tankless hot water heater?

Where did you buy your tankless hot water heater? What do you recommend? Cost vs savings?

I've got a Bosch tankless that is new that I'm trying to offload. It is for gas homes.

I'm not sure what all is different, but I've heard unless you have a gas home, it isn't worth it to switch to tankless.

The amount of electricity it takes to heat on demand water is pretty large, from what I've heard, making it not near as efficient as gas water heaters.

Still in the planning stages, but wow to the reviews on Amazon for that thing.

From what I read, they need larger wiring ran......

Look into a heat pump water heater.

according to the website below, you need approx 120 amps...

1ga is good for 119 apparently...so you may need 0 gauge. That shit is gonna be expensive.
AWG Wire size chart and ampacity table for design engineers including skin depth frequencies and tensile strength data; electrical cable size

1ga looks good according to this chart

looks like $2.19/ft per wire... So you need 2 + a ground. If you havent ever pulled wire this big...its gonna be a bitch. If you run it in the wall, you will probably need to redrill the top plate and pray to god you dont have a fire block halfway through the wall.

Plus available amperage and room in the panel.
