Anyone own a Kreg Jig system?

I'm thinking about getting one to build to some garage cabinets. I really like the idea of being able to utilize pocket holes and screws opposed to brads and staples. It looks like some careful clamping would be required in some applications to keep things perfectly lined up when you screw them together, but I can live with that.

Anyone have any experience, likes, dislikes, worth the investment, pile of shit?

Don't even hesitate, that's all quality stuff. my dad uses that same jig on his furniture, and he's building/selling expensive stuff. I dont know if any of his how-to's cover using the jig, but you can look around on his site. alexofhouseworx.com

They are awesome, just do it. Lowes will have sales on their stuff too from time to time.

I have one and love it...built a few cabinets with it. I have the newer style with the handle on the front

I've got the pictured jig and have used it a handful of times. I'm very happy with the quality of it all. I've used regular screws when I ran out of the Kreg square drive ones that come with the kit and the only thing I don't like is that I need more clamps to keep everything lined up during assembly.

Got a ton of there deck screws dont know if they are the same but they work great around the house.

I bought the smaller one last week. Haven't used it yet though. I'm about to build a bed frame to see if I can do it or not.

If I fail miserably, I can just burn the evidence.

I have the smaller version. It has worked very well both times I needed it. I give two thumbs up.

I have the offbrand harbor freight one and love it. The HF one is actually all metal and not plastic so thats why i picked it over the kreg brand.

Ive built a fair amount of decent furniture and its been pretty much irreplaceable.

Get a 20% off coupon and its only like $55. But i will say the screws that come with it are trash. Go get actual pockethole screws If you go with the HF brand.

Ended up getting the newer K5 from Rockler yesterday. Clamp is now in the front and has arms that extend out to the sides. Came with a free automax 3" face clamp. Also got the Kreg 90 degree clamp and a Freud melamine blade. Decided to use melamine instead of plywood. Cheaper, no need to paint it and found it in the same gray color that I painted the rest of my garage cabinets.
