They both appear to be pictures of residential walls, with different recepticals embedded in the wall. The walls also appear to be painted different colors and at different elevation in relation to the slab.

phone jack in first one... 30 amp 125 volt circuit in the second (like a clothes dryer or fridge outlet).

All of that credit advice means nothing to me now.

Thanks, I guess I'm too young to know as I've never seen either. The outlet is in a bedroom so I won't be hooking up any fridges or washers there. Any concern switching to a standard 20a 125v?

I'm not an electrician, but I'd guess you wouldn't want that big a breaker on a circuit that doesn't need it so as not to fry whatever you plug into it.

If it was in the bedroom, I bet it was for some medical equipment. Who owned the house before you?

Either that, or a hot tub time machine.

I would be more worried about all the carpet pubes.

they are correct...phone jack and then electrical outlet. You can convert the electrical outlet to a 20a outlet but you should change the breaker to a 20a as well.

Thanks for the help. We closed yesterday and I am just starting to get the house ready to move in.
