  • Multi zone home audio - Need direction

Parents are undergoing a large reconstruction project. They have most of the drywall down, and her wants to run cables for speakers. I have no idea what to look for, what to watch out for, etc.. Can you have multiple sources and have a switch with the volume control in each room?

It is as simple as a multi-room A/V receiver with an inexpensive speaker selector/volume set-up or a multi-source, multi-zone system. Sonos is also a good choice, Bluetooth and app control.

Like CWO said, any capable multi-zone receiver will do the job. You can control all zones independently (volume/source) with the remote. Sonos is great, but there are cheaper wireless audio systems that work just as well. Especially, if you don't need or want 35 app choices for music.

We saw the monoprice kit, and the niles 6430. Any of these systems do the chromecast protocol? So we could stream audio from a phone or pc to the system. Hmmm
