Air/Electric and days. So GE is interviewing? Good to know I have a buddy that needs a job. I am thinking like you, I hope some people do get hired that way I move up too. I like the company and my job and hope this ends up being my career for life. Not happy about the layoffs, but understand it's a part of the system and eventually will have a good enough clock number that layoffs won't be a problem. What's the highest clock number you have heard?

I was told Kenworth laid off 400 and went to 4 day work weeks already.

I'm pretty sure a hand full of managers that have not been there a year will have much of a chance getting a 32 year policy changed. Surely you have figured out that most managers out there are nothing more than a puppet. Most of them would'nt poor piss out of a boot with the instructions on the heel.

Funny thing about cut backs. When they happen overtime goes up for some strange reason.

And Mike i hope your not planning on working at voith. They pay dick and they are under contract with Peterbilt that they cant hire any of their employees........had a girl working for them that couldnt get hired in for that exact reason.
Doom and gloom man. Anyone starting here don't expect for it to last long, it will likely be temporary. Second quarter is very scarse on the amount of trucks scheduled for production. If e can get to july it looks much better but depends on how many trucks they pull up from the later part of the year to fill the gaps. If diesel gets to 5+ dollars a gallon and the election looks rocky expect it to take a down turn. Plus 2013 is nother emissions year for OTR trucks and that scares buyers.

Save your money scott! And mike didn't work for voith they said he looked to young...lol

The training is just generalized stuff. The training is throwing you on the line show ya what you'll be doing and just going.

Has anyone ever had it take this long to start the training process?
I know someone who had to wait 2-3 months after their interview, before their start date.
