OK, strictly vertical. I never verified this but they said we were the fastest rig in the company, with only 1 other rig being a close second. We'd punch a hole in 2 weeks (maybe a bit more) and be on to the next one. But I really wouldn't know, I didn't work on any of the others and that could just be talk.

After that I mudlogged for awhile and got to see some REAL bfe. People think they know bfe, until they've really seen it. There was an area we had to haul trailers to for rig sites, that we called "the vast expanse". Had to make sure both tanks were gassed up in the diesel before you went, otherwise you'd be calling for help to get more fuel on your way back. I liked it. Herds of mule deer everywhere. The barbed wire fences looked like they had been down forever, and no one was coming to put them back up. Living out there would be a different experience, but I only ever saw one house and I couldn't fathom how they lived there.

The term has a definition that extends beyond the racial connotations in which it is typically used. When I use it, there is no racial intent behind it.

It really means nothing to me anyway. There are too many ways it's used anymore. People will always perceive it in the most offensive way to them in order to make you out to be the bad guy.
