I know that. My R1 also came with a 190/55 stock but the 190/55 feel worlds better. You should try a 120/70 next time, you will like how it feels.

actually the 2nd number of a tire is height but its not a measurement, rather a ratio of the width (first number).

Pures are good tires but they are the same thing as the 2ct with a different pattern IMO. I couldnt justify what they wanted for the 2ct or the pure and went with the Dunlop Q2. I am in love with the q2 and dont think I will be going pack to a michlen tire anytime soon.

While PP 2CTs and Pures both have multi-compound technology the compounds/distributions, tread, and overall tire weight are different. A GT and a Cobra are basically the same car, but are quite different, ya know?

Q2 is a good tire and Dunlop over estimated their demand so the wholesalers have been offering dealers 38% off dealer cost IIRC (could log in real quick to see) on the Q2s so they can be sold cheaply.

For North Texas street riders a tire like the Pure is overkill. We don't really have the roads and most riders don't have the ability to require a Pure. They are great tires for entry-level track day guys that track and street their bike as well as don't want to step up to the cost of real race tires that take longer to come up to temperature and that will require warmers to make them last even a little while.

I'm not the most knowledgeable guy in the world, but I've been doing this sportbike thing over a decade so I know one or two things. I'm happy to offer an opinion with what I do know.

Biggest reason to switch for me though was the fact SBTG had a sale and i got both Pure's F/R for under 200.00 shipped.

The bike is probably ruined if not in a million peices. Id rather not have it back now but I do want justice.

My insurance will cover it. They wait 2 weeks then cut me a check. Just have to pull out invoices for all the extras.

Someone in the parking lot said they saw a guy riding off. I wish I would have saw.
