Living where you live and looking at the fact you may want to take it on a road trip or two I would lean towards a ZX14 or a Busa just because they are more comfortable(to me) than the 1K bikes. The only 1K I ever got comfortable on was an 08 GSXR 1K and I took it for 300 miles in one day, other than that I was off the others in like 25-30 minutes.

The seats on newer bikes are getting thinner. With that being said, it is just the way it looks. It isn't anymore uncomfortable than a Suzuki or Yamaha.
