Brother was in town, so we rented a Road Glide and a Road King. I admit I could get spoilrd on these. Only gripe i have about them is that neutral is a bitch to find and the fuckin kickstand scares the shit out of me. Every time you put it down, the bike rolls forward an inch or so. That is one fucked up design

You get use to the kickstand. With the neutral you just have to learn that gentle tap with your toe.Whos your Daddy?

I guess so on the kickstand, still scares the fuck out of me. Sales guy did say neutral was tricky till the bike got broke in. They were brand new 2013 modelsOriginally posted by kingjason View PostYou get use to the kickstand. With the neutral you just have to learn that gentle tap with your toe.

My 96 leaked when I got it a few years back. The original owner had the tranny over filled. Has not leaked a drop of anything since. My dad did the same thing the other day on the 81 limited FXS he has. He thought it was because he went synthetic until I told him how little fluid was actually supposed to be in there.Originally posted by Vertnut View PostI bought a new Low-Rider back in '79, and the kick-stands stunk then. That bike leaked oil from day one, too, and could never fix it. Wherever it is, it's probably STILL leaking oil. Good old AMF.
Been in the family since new, no leaks.
Whos your Daddy?

What kind of oil did you use at the 1k service? My Night Rod is overdue for its 1k service only because I have a case of Amsoil on its way. I hear switching oils helps quite a bit though. Neutral is easy as hell to find on mine but it has that infamous harley clunk shifting gears. Im hoping an oil change will fix that.Originally posted by O.C. As far as the kickstand, keep it in 1st and rolling it foward against the gear before leaning it over helps. My bike is never in neutral unless Im at a light and need to do something or Im showing off the exhaust.

22k on my Electra and it still takes me a minute sometimes but its the ole 5 speed. I don't think I have ever got it into neutral from first. It is always from second and tapping it down. It is a very gentle tap and if I am wearing different boots or shoes it throws me off. Look at the bright side though. I have never missed a first to second shift where a bike hits neutrel. My brand new 06 Vulcan would do this on occasion and it was very easy to find neutrel on that bike.Originally posted by O.C. I switched to synthetic at 1K and have had the 5K done as well. My brother has the same bike and has the same issue with 16K on it.Originally posted by Lason View PostWhat kind of oil did you use at the 1k service?
