That's not him that's getting paid, it's the company. That's not really a ton of operating capital for a motorcycle manufacturer, either.

$41k for a bike you can race at Daytona is a pretty good deal. $18k is steep compared to what the Japanese offer though, but it is American made and it'd cost more than that to convert a stock 1125R into one of the new bikes.
