Is your friend's son in the Houston area?...may be the same guy. You just need to take your plates down to the tax office, register it as a classic or antique, and they will inspect your plates to make sure they have good enough reflective quality...and also to make sure that the number isn't issued to someone else. Pretty easy process really.Originally posted by Grimpala View PostHey man, you of all people would know. What do I have to do to run period correct plates on my 72 Chevelle?
I believe he sold it for $18.5K...was a pretty well sourced out truck. BBC, OD Trans, vintage air, all CPP suspension, really nice interior with buckets and the rare center jump seat (instead of a console), tilt, factory tach and gauges, etc. Had pretty much all the good stuff on it....I'd say that the only negative spots were that it had a spray-in bedliner, all trim removed (I'd have preferred it to have at least some), and the color seemed to be a love or hate...although it was the original color and also had a really quality paint job on it. I did a bit to make the engine compartment look better, but it could've used some love still (inner fenders needed new finish, as did headers, brake booster, etc)....and it REALLY needed a 6.0 LSX swap too!Originally posted by FreightTrain View PostHey Rreemo,
You mind sharing what your truck sold for when your buddy sold it. Just wondering what the market is for a truck of that caliber.
If I had kept it I would have swapped the engine, put some of the trim back on it (tailgate, back of cab, and maybe on the nose too), painted the top half of the cab white for a factory 2-tone look, and probably would've stepped the front wheels up to 20x7's. It was a bit much of a dog-sniffer with the 18/20 combo.
Here's some more pics...

And they all look like shit. Diff'rent strokes, I guess. I am not a fan of anything lowered that severe. Older model trucks just look disgusting to me dropped that low.Originally posted by krazyasslunatic View Postguy here locally owns these, the 2 blue ones are the same but he redid to the current setup with the baby blue smoothies
