Crash- Everything. I saved it from my grandmothers pasture, where it sat for over 10 years, about 5 years ago and got it to my friends and tore it apart and realized it was in over my head. I usually just modify cars not build them from basically scratch.

Thanks Lason.Originally posted by Lason View PostThe amount of detail on that car is awsome!! I absolutley love everything about it!
Man, it's really not a hard process, just time consuming. We use a rubberized abrasive called Cratex. Usually 1" works best for the right look. Yeah, it goes in the mill, and runs very slow speed. I guess I could do a Tech How-To write up on it some time and show steps and maybe even just make a video and put it on YouTube and post it up here.Originally posted by Blue88Coupe View PostI'd like to know how to do "engine turning" or what ever you call the design he puts on the parts. I imagine he's using some tool in a mill?
Haha, I actually found those and was going to buy them to go on the Mustang, but they are 60 aspect ratio, and I didn't want to run that big of a tire and my dad wanted them BAD.Originally posted by lbt View PostThe drag radial's are a nice touch..

Thanks man. Those kind of details are EVERYWHERE on this car.Originally posted by Beaterjuiced View PostThat thing is goooor-geous man...I dig the turned shifter bezel and other details!
Cha Ching, bling bling !! LOL ! We'll have to bring it to a Friday night GTG some time soon.Originally posted by Pro88LX View Postthat car is so money!
Thanks. The decision to use that engine was made about 15 years ago when we bought a '70 Impala for $75 and drove it home ! Of course, the gas gauge didn't work and we ran out of gas about a mile from the shop. Lol ! Anyway, it's a stock bore 400 with 10:1 compression, AFR heads, and a Lunati cam. It sounds and runs awesome !!Originally posted by Tannerm View PostBad ass car outside of the chevy engine... Love the pinstriping detail.
Yeah, the biggest problem with hot rodding the early Chevies is all of the wood on the inside. Most people don't want to mess with it. I've got a '36 Chevy coupe that we're going to build into our new drag car and pull the engine and trans out of the '55 4 door.Originally posted by WesB View PostCrash- Everything. The old man has really worked hard on this car over the years and has been busting his ass especially hard since last year on it. I need to get some of the pictures out and scan them into my comp of when we picked it up and what it looked like when it was just a body and frame rails.Originally posted by SSMAN View PostDamn nice car Aaron.

Awesome! That turned out REALLY well. I can't imagine what that looks like in person. In pics it REALLY makes those louvers stand out!

Thanks man ! I was really critical of myself when I was doing those stripes ! Lol ! I wanted them to be as perfect as possible, and I think they came out pretty damn good !Originally posted by DOHCTR View PostHoly chit that is clean!
Nice job on the pinstripes too man, as usual!
My dad's buddy up in Sherman did the work. Ronnie Cathey is his name, and his shop is Custom Trim. He's been doing upholstery work for 40+ years and is a craftsman at his trade, to say the least ! He's an awesome guy too.Originally posted by Who Needs 8 View PostThat thing is BAD ASS!!! Mad props to the Pops.
Who did the leather? I've been thinking about having the skins in the TTA replaced but want it to look as stock as possible.
Oh man, I have always loved the look of pinstriped louvers, and I asked my dad what he thought about striping the louvers and he said, "man, I love striped louvers, but that's gonna be a lot of work !". I said "hell, you been building this car for almost 20 years, it's the LEAST I can do to stripe the louvers !". They look great in person too. I'm really glad I did them.Originally posted by Darren M View PostAwesome! That turned out REALLY well. I can't imagine what that looks like in person. Thanks ! Man, I know. I mean, it was insured for $85k before the interior was put in it, the grille shell was put on it, and the doors were put on it, but you couldn't replace this car. My dad bought it and has been building it since 1992. There's a lot of memories in this car.Originally posted by mustang_revival View PostLooks great. You guys should put a low jack welded inside the frame of all that hard work..
Yessir. Its actually a 1932 Essex-Terraplane. If you notice the suicide doors, and then remember that '32 Fords only had suicide doors on the 3 window models, that's what really sets this car apart from a '32 Ford.Originally posted by Grape View Poststeel body?
Plus, my dad did all of the metal work on this car himself, and there's only about a quart of filler on the whole car. He got it as slick as he possibly could.
