Yes because it is a fact. A C5/C6 Vette is massively more structurally sound than an '03/'04 Mustang Convertible. Anyone that disputes that fact is delusional.Originally posted by dustin View PostAre you trying to imply that a corvette would fair better in an accident?Ford

I've seen plenty of corvettes distentigrate in an accident. Regardless, what I meant by my statement is that corvettes are for old people. I'm 25 and not worried about my driving resulting in an accident.Originally posted by quikag View PostYes because it is a fact. Look, I'm not implying the Vette is the safest car on the road, but it's fully hydroformed frame rails and crash structure are quite a bit more advanced than the SN95 frame that was developed originally back in the 70's/80's? What you see disintegrating is the fiberglass outer structure which has minimal relevence to the crash safety structure. It's the steel, etc. underneath that protects the occupants.Originally posted by dustin View PostI've seen plenty of corvettes distentigrate in an accident. Anyway, cool Mustang, didn't mean to bag on it. I got my first Vette at 23 (about 11 years ago), so I guess I was ready to be an old man right out of school.

I didn't take offense to it bud. I don't think anyone buys cars like these with crash durability in mind though. Truthfully, I fell in love with a cammed c6 z06 but I try to live within my means.

Smart man and, again, cool Mustang! Always had a fondness for the Terminator. Heck, even after all of these years, you can HEAR those things around town before you see them. They just sound bada**. Probably the best exhaust sound (with a few mods) for less than $100k even to this day.Originally posted by dustin View PostI didn't take offense to it bud. Looks like you might need some big stones out infront of your lawn.Originally posted by dustin View PostThanks guys.
No kidding bud. I may have to.
I've only had the vert since friday but I'm already kind of over convertibles during the day... At night it's pretty nice though.
People frequently come through on my street at about 45 mph and there's a pretty steep grade that you can't see over right in front of my house. As a result, I never park anything of value on the street for anything longer than a couple of minutes. Somebody has already plowed the mailbox once.
