I've played the violin for 17 years, so yes I have seen cello players in action. Cello players are notoriously crazy outside of the orchestra as far as musical experimentation, so maybe you're the one who hasn't really had any experience with them :P

The cello player in the strings group I played timpani for while in college did a mean version of Janes Addiction's "Summertime Rolls" and yeah, he was brilliant and as crazy as they come. Some people don't get it and never will.

A question was asked and I answered it. Then some how this is turned around to questioning me when I was just replying as to what was being questioned. My observation of every video I watched is obviously different than what someone is posting so I commented. I can care less if they slam the shit out of them or caress their instruments with tender loving care.
