I noticed other problems in Elementary and Jr High but what finally brought it to light was in High School. Before that I really only had issues with it in geography and history, when looking at maps in the textbook with color coded keys. There were always 2, sometimes 3 that I had difficulty differentiating. I remember I would get mad "why do they make the damn colors so close together", meanwhile other kids in class saw them fine.Originally posted by Jedi View PostI remember getting in major trouble during 3rd grade art class because the teacher thought I was intentionally causing problems. (Primary and secondary color wheel)
Sent me to the principal, they called my mom in for a meeting about my "behavior" - when she got there and found out what the story was she dressed down the principal and teacher like a drill sergeant. Was fuckin beautiful.
So in High School I was in a psychology class and an art class. In art we started working with watercolors and had to blend and transition colors. I, of course, had alot of trouble with that. Then, a couple of days in, we were discussing perception in psychology. The book had a couple of the test panels and I was like "I can't see shit!". I mentioned it to the art teacher, who had someone pull me out to test me. Sure enough...
The cool thing is that my art teacher exempted me from watercolors going forward.
I just did charcoal drawings while the rest of the class did watercolors.

I almost feel sorry for you poor blind bastards now, that actually explains more about how colorblind people see than anything else in this thread.Originally posted by Chili View Post1, 3 and 4 look pretty much the same to me (the blue may be a bit darker). The "red" looks darker in 2.

2 & 3 looks the same. 4 has a deeper "blue". 1 has brighter blue and red.
I'm partial, myself. Some reds & greens I can see, some I can't.
Mom discovered it when I had some assignment in elementary school. We were to go through magazines/catalogs and cut out items that were "brown", "orange", etc. When it came to green, she said I was driving her nuts because I kept going past green items.
Remember, blame your mom for colorblindness. Though women hardly ever get colorblind, they're the genetic carrier that gives it to the boys. My grandpa (her dad), was totally red-green colorblind."Self-government won't work without self-discipline." - Paul Harvey

You and I basically have the same vision then. My uncle is colorblind as well, he can't tell the difference between gold and red.Originally posted by GhostTX View Post2 & 3 looks the same. 4 has a deeper "blue". 1 has brighter blue and red.

Nothing sucks more than wiring a car stereo when you are color blind.

True story. I have one brother with it too. We got it from my mom's dad. He was pretty close to fully colorblind.Originally posted by GhostTX View PostRemember, blame your mom for colorblindness.
