I hear ya. Hell it took my wife 3 years to convince me to buy her the rubicon but especially now as it stands I love it. Stock I thought it was an overpriced boring turd!

I drive an 18 wheeler so slow is nothing new to me and I really don't mind it now with the 4.10s and 37s. Of course bfg exaggerated on their sizes and mine are really 35.8s. The rockers are supposed to be true to size so the 5.38s will help out a lot then.

The stages is just my planned sequencing of mods, nothing else lol
For off roading the TJ has better low end in my opinion, I've wheeled both. The JK has better gas mileage, and has a better ride for mall crawling. If the JK's had so much low end power, their owners wouldn't go with higher gear ratios than TJ owners.

Rubicons are quite amazing in general, no matter what the generation. I've seen new Unlimited Rubis do shit I'd never expect. I'll still take my TJ over the JK though, just something about the inline 6 and utilitarian everything mostly that makes me love it.

I've seen people go way overboard with LCG rigs so I do know what you're talking about.I was just taking a friendly jab at you. I know most jk owners are clueless but my PBB yota hoodie proves I'm at the upper echelons of wheeling knowledge. Lol
Good thing I have a TJ

I just need to truss the front axle and it'll be ready for wheeling. Next spring I'm gonna get the rocker radials and regear to 5.38s. And that will conclude stage 2 and mods. Already has e lockers obviously. When the wifey gets bored of it and wants a new daily driver ill go to 40s.

I've only spent a grand on all the mods ive done so far.
I've never heard of stages before, sounds like dodge neon talk You'll need the 5.38's for the minivan motor

Suspension unloading wasn't the problem. The sand was too loose for jack placement. They do make plates you can bolt until the base for that, but it's not too often of a circumstance. What is this Stage 2 stuff?

Here is what I've done with mine:

    JKS 1.25" Body Lift
    BDS 3" Suspension lift
    JKS 1" MML
    Bilstein Nitrogen Shocks
    HD Trackbar
    HD Tie rod
    BDS Quick disconnects
    Dana44 w/ Detroit Locker 4.88's.
    Dana30 w/ Lockrite Locker 4.88's.
    Various lighting upgrades.
    Light bar

I'm sure I missed a bunch of crap.

blew one of my brand new tires this weekend on a tree stump in the desert in the middle of NOWHERE. Thank god I had a jeep friend with me who had a hi-lift jack. The damn thing tried to kill me 3 times because we were on sand. It flew out 3 times and dropped the jeep. Finally got it replaced. My friend only had 33" tires... I was never so happy to be lazy in my life. If I had put the new front diff in (which is a locker) I would have been screwed.

It stuck like glue to the ground, even to the point where people would start running away sure that I was about to roll and tumble all the way down a hill/cliff/etc. But hey, it sounds like you're an expert on wheeling, so I guess you're right.
I guess sarcasm makes you feel more intelligent or something, either way I never said I was an "expert" but I have done my share of wheeling and I have seen plenty of cases where lack of uptravel caused issues, both at Northwest and Superlift.
