<-- The Dark Tower series is a great readThe last 3-4 books of the Dark Tower series sucked so bad it made me want to stomp a kitten. The last two were horrible, it was like he was just throwing shit at paper to get the series down. All of King's shit went downhill after he got plowed by that van.Originally posted by SouthernSVT View PostI don't read a ton of books, but this series kind of caught my eye. Would ya'll say that it's an entertaining enough series of books to keep the attention of someone who isn't into reading much? I'm not illiterate or anything, just don't get into books much.

I agree, it seemed very forced. Wish he would have slowed down, I really loved thefirst four books. Hopefully the eighth that is about to come out won't suck.Originally posted by stevo View PostThe last 3-4 books of the Dark Tower series sucked so bad it made me want to stomp a kitten. If you want to read seven books that consistently have good writing and flow together, get The Harry Potter series.

Wizard and Glass is the best of the series.Originally posted by jakesford View PostCompletely agree, I'm still anticipating the eighth book though.Originally posted by stevo View PostThe last 3-4 books of the Dark Tower series sucked so bad it made me want to stomp a kitten. StevoSo is it worth reading the first couple of books if the rest of em suck? Or would I just get into a story that isn't worth finishing?Originally posted by talisman View PostI agree, it seemed very forced. Wish he would have slowed down, I really loved thefirst four books. The first 3-4 were pretty good, I liked the second and third the most. It seemed to start getting 'forced' about half way through the forth book in my opinion and went downhill from there. One thing to think about is this series was wrote over a period of I think 35 years, so his style and the things that influenced his writing changed a bunch.Originally posted by SouthernSVT View PostSo is it worth reading the first couple of books if the rest of em suck? I would get the first and read it, if you like it, get the next two and go from there.
