Did you see the guy posting the the garage section talking about how hypers were better than forged for boosted applications? It was the same guy that kept calling his forged rods billet.Originally posted by greenbullitt View Postgood luck with hypers and boost..not knocking, just sayin...

The 3.8L options are pretty slim. The pistons were in the car when I got it, so I didn't bother. The M90 really can't get enough boost to really hurt them. Even at 13PSI, I am not pinging. Premium sucks though.Originally posted by greenbullitt View Postgood luck with hypers and boost..not knocking, just sayin...
If I ever blow up the 3.8L again, 331 stroker is in it's future.Originally posted by 46Tbird View PostSweet! Save yourself some time, heartache, and money - and put a V8 in it!
No haters here man, we've all had/have project cars. I like it. Somebody has to keep the Tbirds going, thanks for doing your part.
Going to be fixing up the paint and body next. Not liking the estimates on fixing the quarter panel. Been quoted $350 and $250 for just the body filler, no paint. Going to hit some of the more ghetto shops before too long. I have had 4 red cars now, I am sick of red.Originally posted by Buick355 View PostI think you should leave it red. Find a stock hood and get the paint and body work done first.
It was given to me, but at this point I have roughly $2000 in it, with $500 going to a set of tires. Bit more than I would like, but not super bad. I am not looking for a show car by any means, just something nice.Originally posted by stangstew View PostI have had four super coupes. Love the hood. LSX is tempting.... Again, if I blow up the 3.8L, I will take a look at that option.Originally posted by Sean88gt View PostLSx and some sleeper fun. I learned to drive in a s/c.

Already pullied it. 1.7 AR would be nice, but man those things are expensive as fuck. Would be cheaper to go turbo. What I would really like is a T56 and some 3.73's. Not a big fan of the M5R2 RKE, just a slightly modified version of the M5OD in the F150. 3.75 first gear ratio and a 5K redline makes for one short trip on the 1st gear.Originally posted by majorownage View Postdo a pulley swap or find an autorotor!!!! =D

Status update. Have gotten all of the lights and body kit taken off and started with the taping and sanding. Maybe 75% done with the sanding, hoping to get it finished out and primered by this weekend. I would LOVE to have it painted this weekend, but somehow I don't see that.

Technically there are two layers, the original and the new crap. On the bumper, there are two as well, some crap blue, then the color that's on it now. The bumpers are exceptionally bad and I am taking them mostly down to the fiberglass.Originally posted by Z06killinsbf View PostHow many layers of paint are on that? If it's more than 2 and you plan to put more on it, it's BEST to take it down to metal.
Originally posted by mstng86 View Postx2. Most of it is past the new red and down to the original red, all the way to the metal in places where there were chips in the paint. My dad is the one doing the painting and he assures me that it's fine the way it is. I have seen his work, so I am inclined to trust him. Heck, my body shop friend, who does really good paint work, told me to just hit it with some 400 grit and shoot it.Originally posted by Z06killinsbf View PostI'm not saying you have to but why do all this work and dedication to have it flake or peel down the line. A job worth doing is worth doing right.
I agree about doing it right, I would strip that bastard down to nothing, have it media blasted and then shot, but I don't have that kind of time. She won't be a garage queen, just a daily driver.
