From what I've seen, somewhere around 5 to 6 thousand.

        no way...

        not peak.

usually more like 3500-4000 TOPS. most street 12v's probably peak in the 2800-3200 range

but with the new Hamilton head and further cam development, we might actually see these things start making actual power above 4000-5000+

sled pullers turn RPM to take advantage of momentum

The motor looks to be a CR so I would get somewhere in the 3.5 to 4k range unless he has a stand alone fuel system, then it could be seeing closer to 6k

Thanks for the info. Now, turning that kind of RPM, wouldn't there be a lot of reciprocating mass with that kind of stroke? I am under the impression a diesel has a massive stroke over the bore measurement?
                I'm totally lame on diesels...

You're right, sorry. Was thinking of diesel in general as to the highest rpm race engines that I've seen. Some turn pretty high, but not the 12 valves.

                    damn, you right son...

figures. Bean is a Ford guy, and they love those CR swaps...

no way in hell I'd mess with a common fail at those power levels

Yeah trying to fuel those kinda number while hoping that you get enough fuel to all 6 cylinders (especially the back two) with the stock computer is just asking for trouble. The original owner of the truck is actually from the DFW area, and ran it with a 12v when he owned. The truck was probably one of the cleanest " Pro Street" type diesel trucks I ran across while going to the diesel races.
