One of the reasons I posted it.. Depending on how bad the floors are in the Dallas car, the home town car (running/driving) might be the better value. Now, if CJ prefers the Coupe body to the sedan, and wants to do his own thing, the one out west might be worthwhile to have checked out. You just have to keep in mind that ones version of "no rust" can mean squat..Originally posted by talisman View PostBasket case for $5500 that needs pretty much everything plus shipping, or nice car, already with a lot done and driving for 2500 more? Hard top or no top. Foxes solidified that for me."When the people find that they can vote themselves money, that will herald the end of the republic." -Benjamin Franklin

I agree, the dual headlights look better. The one I saw years ago struck me because it is the only new yorker I had seen in person. Those forward look lines on the two door are just awesome.Originally posted by 46Tbird View PostCJ, I apologize for the non-Buick content.
Nope, it was a '58 Belvedere in Toreador Red and Iceberg White with stainless Sportone trim. The '58 Fury only came in Buckskin Beige with gold trim all over it and brown interior (yuck). Yes I know what Steven King wrote with the special order crap and yes I am well aware of all the red/white cars that come up when you Google '58 Fury. But there was never a red/white Fury from the factory.
For '57, these Mopars were only available with single headlights:
- all Plymouths
- all Dodges
- DeSoto Firesweeps
- all Plodges (the generic name for Canadian or export Mopars that used the Dodge frames, engines, and front sheetmetal on Plymouth/DeSoto/Chrysler cars)
For '57, these Mopars came standard with single headlights but had optional dual headlights:
- DeSoto Firedome, Fireflite
- Chrysler Windsor, Saratoga, New Yorker
For '57, these Mopars came standard with dual headlights:
- DeSoto Adventurer
- Chrysler 300
In '58, the few states that had outlawed dual headlights relaxed their laws. That's why nearly all 1958 American cars have quads, including the Mopars.
My car has the duals. I don't like the bug-eye look of the singles anyway, but different strokes for different folks.
